A Practical Guide to Caring for Aging Parents Through the End of Life
Shari Hofer and Shabnam Kazmi
Death is a certainty, and while much about the path is uncertain, how we choose to shape the journey is up to us.
Most of us know that a lack of a game plan can lead to disaster. Why then does death feel like a sudden uncomfortable, closed-lip topic? Losing someone we love is an inevitable part of life. What if we could think about caregiving early and with solid insights into what makes a difference for those we love—and ourselves?
With Love offers tools to help you feel more prepared for the inevitable—from having hard conversations and making key financial and legal decisions, to assembling care teams and managing care, to getting the support you need to grieve and move forward. Whether you are early in the journey or recovering from the loss of someone you love, With Love shares insights, advice, and frameworks that can help you be a more effective carer for yourself, your elders, and everyone on the path with you (there are more people than you think).
The path may not be easy or like anyone else’s—but you don’t have to walk it alone. With Loveis an honest, heartfelt, and practical road map to having a more positive caregiving journey.
