Sara Addicott

Monday mornings at GFP HQ are busy times, but never too busy to talk football. Which brings us to just one of the fabulous qualities of production editor Sara Addicott: she can run a verbal highlight reel while posting final production files without breaking a sweat. Seriously, though…wait, we are serious. In addition to rivaling Costas in her commentary, Sara is also a generous, extremely capable colleague who is quickly becoming a core part of the crack GFP production editorial team.

I’m not a big re-reader, but lately I’ve been evangelizing for Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel (don’t read anything about it, just read it); for LOL funny, Straight Man by Richard Russo;Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter; any poetry by Matthew Zapruder; also, food memoirs and cookbooks. My favorite in this genre is Blood, Bones & Butter by Gabrielle Hamilton, which is really the story of a very badass woman.

Many days, as the mother of two teenagers? The tree in The Giving Tree.

FAVORITE COCKTAIL:

A Bloody Mary on Seahawks game day, preferably made with Clamato, so, technically a Bloody Caesar.

Fun literary fact about Sara is that the late, great Madeleine L’Engle wrote her a recommendation for Smith College. It worked! Now Sara proudly shares her alma mater. Sara is also a graduate of the UW Editing Certificate Program and worked in freelance editing for many years before joining the GFP team. As you may have guessed, she’s a sports freak, and confesses to have pretty much traded in NPR for sports radio.  Her women’s tennis team won the 2013 USTA League National Championship at the 4.0 level, and in 2015 they took second place.
