Kristin Mehus-Roe

GFP's executive director of publishing partnerships, Kristin excels at editorial visioning, concept development, and creation of publishing programs for companies and organizations, extending their brand value by turning it into book form. The breadth of Kristin's publishing experience astounds us, encompassing educational, lifestyle, and deluxe custom licensed work for a number of elite brands. Though she has command of the smallest details that make a project special, she is happiest when working on deeply complex projects and taking them from nascent idea to finished product.

Frequently Asked

THE LITERARY CHARACTER YOU MOST RELATE TO FROM CHILDHOOD:

Holden Caulfield and Sal Paradise. I tried to replicate their lives as much as possible . . . leading to a somewhat spotty education and more teenage trouble than I’d like to tell my children about.

ON YOUR BEDSIDE TABLE RIGHT NOW:

Emma (only to rectify the fact that I’m the only female American editor who has yet to read it), Ragtime, Spice (This has been on my bedside table for about four years. It’s my guilty not-read).

THE BOOKS YOU RETURN TO AGAIN AND AGAIN:

Love Medicine, Blindness, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Random Family, The Martian Chronicles, and almost anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

FAVORITE TYPE OF BOOKS TO WORK ON:

Fiction: literary fiction, thrillers (especially Scandinavian), science fiction. Nonfiction: memoir, illustrated pop culture, ethnographic, dog/animal/natural science.

FAVORITE COCKTAIL:

Martini, up, with olives, extra-cold.
