The Year in Review at GFP

It’s been an amazing year for us here at GFP. We’ve added tons of talented new staff, worked with amazing clients, and met game-changing industry folks from all over the country. GFP took our show on the road this year, heading to the AWP Conference in Seattle and Digilit in San Francisco, among others. There’s nothing quite like being at a writing conference, where buzzy book nerd energy abounds. Next up is the San Francisco Writers Conference, where I’ll be doing a panel with my dear friend, Lucy Silag. Come say hi if you’re around!

GFP also hosted our first fundraiser here at HQ in Seattle, partnering with the inspiring Carine McCandless, author of The Wild Truth. Working on a book is always an adventure, and this one took Jenna all the way to the Alaskan wilderness.

We’ve been bringing you all the latest and greatest on our blog every Tuesday, and we’re looking forward to keeping it up in 2015. I polled my darling colleagues to ask what their favorite posts of the year were. Here are a few that stole the hearts of the GFs:

The Dogs Friday

Characters Lost in Space

The Beauty of Editing What You Don't Know

Come Down Off That Ledge, Self-Promotion Can Be Fun

How Your Publishing Sausage is Made

Bookstore Dating

Diagnosing Writerly Quirks

Choosing the Right Editor for You

Kristin also asked if I could share the post I did for Book Country about my path to landing a book deal (definitely one of my personal highlights of 2014). My novel, The Sojourn, comes out in March of 2016, so you can bet I’ll have my hands full next year, no excuses.

Happy Holidays! See you in 2015.
